Miss World Manushi Chhillar landed in India on Sunday morning to a grand welcome among shutterbugs. Manushi is the sixth Indian woman to win the Miss World contest. She arrived at the Mumbai’s International Airport on a British Airways flight. The young beauty was received by fans and followers from all over the country at the airport. People chanted “India, India” as the Manushi arrived and waved Indian flags and held up her posters. Chillar later arrived at Mumbai’s top St Regis hotel. After her arrival in India, Chhillar tweeted saying, “Feels great to be back home. Thank you, India for such a grand welcome.” The official handle of Miss India contest also tweeted saying, “She is home! We are so proud of our @MissWorldLtd 2017 @ManushiChhillar!”

Manushi is a third-year medical student who aspires to be a cardiac surgeon. She is a trained classical dancer and has attended the National School of Drama in Delhi. She also has a passion for outdoor sports like scuba diving, snorkelling and bungee jumping. She did her schooling at St. Thomas School in New Delhi and then at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. The 20-year-old won the coveted crown at the Miss World 2017 pageant held in China’s Sanya city. The crown was presented to her by Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016 from Puerto Rico.

Manushi dancing to Deepika Padukone’s Nagada Sang Dhol Baje from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Ram-Leela at the Miss World contest had recently gone viral. Reportedly, Manushi plans to continue her studies after completing her Miss World responsibilities. She will be a part of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad on November 28 which will be co-hosted by the US and India. Manushi will be a panellist along with Sonam Kapoor at master class on ‘The Female Influencer: Advancing Women’s Opportunities in the Media Industry’.
