Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wax statue which was recently unveiled at Montreal’s Grevin museum has not impressed everyone. Moulded by Paris-based artist Eric Saint Chaffray, social media users think the sculpture looks nothing like the Prime Minister. The wax statue was revealed among 120 wax figures of Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and more. However, Twitterati did not think the wax figure, wearing a tailored blue suit with a red tie looks like their young PM of the country. Social media users commented saying that the statue looks older and sadder than the real PM. The wax figure, wearing a tailored blue suit with a red tie, has started a debate on Twitter.

Many think the wax figure looks more like Academy Award-winner Sean Penn than Trudeau. Chaffray has earlier carved wax models of Donald Trump and Mick Jagger. It took him six months to create the statue of Trudeau. According to Daily Mail, the PM’s did not sit for any modelling sessions but his office sent pictures and approved the sculpture. Talking about choosing the Canadian PM, Kathleen Payette, head of the museum said that they chose the Trudeau because of his “modernism, his open mind and because of his worldwide popularity.”

Earlier this year, a wax statue of Beyonce at Madame Tussauds in New York was given a makeover after her fans complained that the figure was too white. Social media users had tweeted saying that the was figure looked more like Mariah Carey or Shakira than Beyonce. The furore occurred after the pop diva’s wax statue was moved to the museum’s New York location.
