India vs Sri Lanka: Virat Kohli Only Batsman to Have His Average Over 50 in All Formats - JPKee.com

New Delhi: The Kolkata Test match was interesting to say the least for Indian captain Virat Kohli. While he got a duck in the first innings, he hit 104 not out in the second innings. With that unbeaten century, Kohli once again became the only cricketer ever to average over 50 in all three formats of the game.

This is the third time that this has happened as he has wrestled to keep his Test batting average over 50. Kohli’s batting average in Test cricket after the Kolkata match in India is 50.12.

This factoid of Kohli being the only batsman is keeping in mind a minimum of 20 innings each in all the three formats. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, Kohli also became the joint-fastest batsman to complete 50 centuries in international cricket. He took 348 international innings to get to the mark, equalling Hashim Amla for the feat of the least number of outings to bring up this milestone.
