An attempt to oblige a fan’s request for a ‘selfie’ has landed Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan in deep trouble with the Mumbai Police. Varun noticed that when his car stopped at a signal, a girl from an auto standing next to his car was trying to click a photo of him. Immediately, he lowered his windows, took the phone from the girl and clicked a selfie with her. Now while the fan has zoomed away happily, the Mumbai Police is not too happy with this act and have reprimanded Varun publicly through their Twitter handle. The tweet by Mumbai Police said that while these adventures might look good onscreen, Varun should stay away from doing such things in real life. It also said that an e-challan is on its way, and the next time this happens, a stricter action will be taken. The actor was quick to apologize and said he will be more careful going forward. Incidentally, the scene of Varun clicking a photo with his fan by leaning out of his car window was captured by a photojournalist. This photo appeared in the tabloid, Mid-day. The Mumbai Police did not like this open ‘flouting of rules’ of not wearing a seatbelt and leaning out of the vehicle. They took to Twitter to warn Varun. The tweet reads: @Varun_dvn These adventures surely work on D silver screen but certainly not on the roads of Mumbai! U have risked ur life,ur admirer’s & few others. V expect better from a responsible Mumbaikar & youth icon like U! An E-Challan is on d way 2 ur home. Next time, V will B harsher.’
