Hyderabad, November 20: A TRS youth leader from Boduppal has been arrested by the police for thrashing his first wife at his residence. The incident was caught on camera and the video has gone viral on social media.

The video showed the brutality which the lady went through. The TRS leader identified as Pulakandla Srinivas Reddy, TRS leader at Boduppal, threw his wife out of home after beating her if full public view when she questioned him about his second marriage.

The active TRS leader married Sangeetha in September 2011 and the couples were blessed with a baby girl.

“This was his second marriage and soon after the wedding, the in-laws started harassing the victim for more dowry,” said the Medipally police.

The distressed housewife had earlier lodged a complaint against the TRS leader at the Chandnagar police station.

“Few days later she came to know that he had married another woman without her knowledge and without divorcing her,” added the police.

The police said that on Sunday when she went to her husband’s house along with her mother and brother to question his second marriage, his mother-in-law started abusing her and dragged her out of the house. The mother-in-law also tried to choke her and assaulted her brother, police said in a statement.

Based on her complaint, a case was booked against the TRS youth leader and the family members.
