Pradyuman Murder Case: Bus Conductor Ashok Kumar Released From Bhondsi Jail - JPKee.com

Gurugram, Nov 22: The bus conductor who was initially accused of murdering Ryan International school student Pradyuman was released on Wednesday from the Bhondsi jail. This comes days after the Central Bureau of Investigation found a senior student guilty of the murder and accused the Gurugram police of tampering with evidence to misdirect the investigation.
According to reports, the bus conductor, Ashok Kumar was provided bail on Tuesday by the Gurugram District court after furnishing a bond of Rs 50,000. The Court reportedly granted bail to Kumar under Article 21 of the constitution. According to Anil Sharma, Kumar’s counsel, since there were differences in the versions of the CBI and the Haryana Police, they were given the benefit of doubt.
Kumar was arrested on September 8, following the body of Pradyuman Thakur, a class two student of Ryan International School in Gurugram, was found. According to the police, Kumar was accused of slitting the throat of the student. Kumar also made a confession, which he later said was made under the pressure of the police.
The case was later transferred to the CBI, which eventually found that a senior student of the school committed the crime in a bid to ‘postpone the examination and parent-teachers meet’. Following this revelation, the CBI also alleged that the police tampered with evidence to frame the conductor.
While the new findings came as a relief for the bus conductor’s family, they alleged that Kumar was targeted because he was poor and said they will not stop their fight unless he is acquitted in the case.
