Mohan Bhagwat Pitches For Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, Complete Ban on Cow Slaughter - JPKee.com

New Delhi, Nov 24: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday said only a Ram Temple will be built at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. Speaking at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad‘s ‘Dharma Sansad’ in Karnataka’s Udupi, Mohan Bhagwat said the day is not far when the saffron flag will wave in pride atop Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The RSS chief also pitched for a complete ban on cow slaughter in the country.

“We must build a temple with the same stones there. The day is not far when a saffron flag will fly atop the mandir,” Mohan Bhagwat was quoted as saying. Calling the construction of Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya a matter of Hindu pride, Bhagwat said no other structure will come up at the site. “We will construct it. It is not a populist declaration but a matter of our faith. It will not change,” Bhagwat said in his keynote address.

The RSS leader further said Ram Mandir would be constructed in the same grandeur as it existed before, using the “same stones” under the guidance of those who were the flag-bearers of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement for the last 25 years. He asked to spread awareness about the issue and said, “We are close to achieving our goal but at this juncture, we should be extra cautious.”

The VHP‘s three-day ‘Dharma Sansad’ will discuss the construction of Ram temple, prevention of religious conversions and cow protection besides other issues. A three-judge bench comprising Justices Dipak Misra, Ashok Bhushan and S A Nazeer has been constituted to hear a batch of petitions challenging the Allahabad High Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case from August 11.

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had in 2010 ruled a three-way division of the disputed 2.77 acres area at the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya. The three-judge bench of the high court, by a 2:1 majority, had said the land be partitioned equally among three parties — the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.
