Man Complaining About Rickshaw Fares Tags USA Salem Police Instead of Tamil Nadu - JPKee.com
Twitter is a great social media platform. It gives a glimpse of so many things around the world and helps us to know about the latest trends and viral stuff. From celebs to politicians to railway authorities many people use this platform for a greater purpose. But there are some out there who solely use them just to complain. Yes, a Twitter user who uses the micro-blogging site for complaint purpose (his bio reveals the same) recently complained about how autos overcharge tourists in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu. He said how the drivers ask for Rs 50 for a just 1.5km ride and asked the police to intervene in the matter. But the catch is that Arunanand, who is from Cochin, went on and tagged wrong police department.
He tweeted, @SalemPoliceDept are you aware that the auto rickshaws overcharge tourists in #Yercaud ?Rs. 50/- for 1.5km. Is there a system that looks into such issues here? @CMOTamilNadu @dinakaranonline @dinathanthi @VisitYercaud @twttdc. The catch is that he didn’t reach out to right target as he tagged USA’s Salem’s police department instead of Tamil Nadu’s.
Here is the tweet:

He even got a reply from the USA’s police department of Salem. Here is the tweet.
We are the Salem Police in Salem, Oregon, USA

He quickly responded and defended himself, here is the tweet.
I knew US had a Salem whilst Tamil Nadu State in India also has one. Never thought I would wrongly tag you folks. Thanks for the reply, nevertheless! Good day

The man took the onus of his mistake and even went to tweet how Madras is a place in Oregon, the USA and is just a few miles away from Salem. The tweet is no viral and doing rounds on the internet. Though he has not yet received any reply from the right police department we are still wondering whether Twitter is the right platform to seek redressal? What are views on this tweet goof up?
