Malayalam Actress Abduction Case: Manju Warrier To Appear As A Key Witness Against Ex-Husband Dileep - JPKee.com

If there is one controversy that has rocked the Malayalam film industry it is that of the abduction and assault case of an actress in Kochi, that led to the arrest of the popular actor, Dileep. Now, nearly nine months after the incident, the Special Investigation Team has been formed to reportedly file a charge sheet following a detailed and scrupulous enquiry. Until now, not less than 14 individuals have been accused in the case, with actor Dileep being the eighth one. The charge sheet has also cited 385 witnesses, along with 12 confidential statements. Out of the 385 witnesses mentioned, nearly 50 of them were from the film industry. Among the witnesses is Dileep’s former wife, Manju Warrier. After all it was she who had brought to the notice of the people that a conspiracy was in play behind the incident.
Pulsar Suni, Vijeesh, Manikandan, Vadival Saleem, Martin, Pradeep and Charlie were among the fierst seven accused, as per reports. They have reportedly been accused of gang rape and planting a conspiracy. On the other hand, Dileep, Meshtiri Suni, lawyers Pratheesh Chacko and Raju Joseph, and Suni’s jailmate Vishnu have reportedly been charged with conspiracy charges. Furthermore, a report by a leading news daily quoted a senior official from the Special Investigation Team stated that the chargesheet made is one of the most conclusive one prepared by the Kerala police. Furthermore, he told the leading daily that the SIT would request the state government to form a special court to handle the case. For those who aren’t aware of the issue, the incident took place on February 17 this year, after which Dilep was taken into custody on July 10. After spending nearly 80 days in prison, his bail plea was accepted and thus on October 3, he was finally let out on bail. He was allowed to go only if he would promise to adhere to the stipulations and not meddle with evidence. Additionally, Dileep was allowed to travel to Dubai by the Kerala High Court for business reasons on Tuesday. Things are likely to get even more interesting now and we are waiting to see what more twists and turns await in this case, which has probably become the most controversial one in recent times.
