Madhya Pradesh: Differently-abled Girl Raped in Damoh, Accused Arrested - JPKee.com



New Delhi, Nov 25: A person was arrested in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh on charges of allegedly raping a differently-abled girl on Friday.


As per the reports of ANI, the police have launched a probe into the matter.


Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh’s capital city has been hitting the headlines for quite sometime over surge in crimes against women.


A few days back, a  60-year-old,  director of differently-abled centre in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh has been arrested on charges of raping two teenage sisters of the centre. As per reports, director of the centre Poonamchand Malviya used to often abuse the girls sexually. After the medical examination of the girls, it was confirmed that the director had raped them after which he was arrested and sent to jail.


On November 17,  a five-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal. According to police sources, three accused have been identified as Gyanendra, Lokesh and Nannu Lal.


Earlier this month, a 19-year-old civil services aspirant was allegedly abducted by four men and gangraped near the Habibganj Railway Station in Bhopal. All the four accused are however taken into custody.


On November 22, while speaking on the issue of rape, the state home minister Bhupendra Singh said that they (MP govt) are going to propose death by hanging for those who rape minor girls.


“We are asking for death sentence for those who rape minor girls and will be presenting the same in the cabinet today as well. This will be presented in the Vidhan Sabha too. Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in India to implement something like this, especially with Prime Minister Modi’s save daughters, educate daughters’ agenda,” Singh said.
