Four Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Workers Attacked in Kannur; Another Found Dead in UP’s Meerut - JPKee.com

Kannur, Nov 20: Four Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers were attacked in Kerala’s Kannur district on Monday. The four injured have been admitted to hospital and are being treated while the attackers are yet to be identified. As per the reports, the incident took place a day after Mayor V K Prasant was attacked by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at the city corporation council.
On the other hand, in a separate incident another Rashtriya Swayamsewak Singh (RSS) worker was found dead in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district. The deceased identified as Sunil Garg, was a prominent iron trader. He was last seen earlier on Sunday campaigning for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the municipal corporation polls, the police said.
Earlier on November 12, V Anandan, a worker of RSS was murdered in Nenmini near the town of Guruvayur. Police officers said he was stabbed several times before he succumbed to injuries in a hospital.
Kerala, especially the volatile Kannur district, has been witnessing a series of political killings and counter-killings of CPI(M) and RSS-BJP activists.
Earlier on October 3, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched its Jana Raksha Yatra from Kannur to highlight ‘Lefts atrocities’ in the state.
