Despite BBFC’s certification, Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati WILL NOT release on December 1 - JPKee.com

Deepika Padukone– Ranveer Singh– Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmavati is far from releasing in India, as of now. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the entire team is currently facing a wrath from some communities for allegedly distorting the historical facts of Queen Padmavati. Also, Central Board of Certification has not yet viewed the film and has demanded that the film might have to wait in the queue for its clearance. Now, amid all this chaos, British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) gave clearance to the film and stated that the film will release on the said date- December 1 itself. However, Viacom 18 confirmed to India.com that it will not release in UK on December 1.

When we asked about Padmavati’s release in UK on December 1, Viacom 18’s spokesperson told us, “We will await the Indian censor board’s clearance and then release the film.” Well, now that has even left the fans in UK waiting because of all the chaos happening in the homeland. Earlier, they made an official announcement about Padmavati’s delay and an excerpt read, “The film is an eloquent portrayal of a tale that will fill every Indian with pride and showcase our country’s story-telling prowess across the globe. We are a responsible, law-abiding corporate citizen and have the highest respect and regard for the law of the land and all our institutions and statutory bodies including the Central Board of Film Certification.” Well, guess the storm has to settle down before everyone else gets to watch it, irrespective of where they live!
