Delhi Cop Poses as ‘Brothel Owner’ to Rescue 15-year-old Girl From Being Sold - JPKee.com

New Delhi, Nov 24: The Delhi police rescued a 15-year-old girl while she was being sold in New Delhi by two dealers for Rs 3.5 lakh. Reports say that the girl, who belongs to Bihar, was brought to Delhi by one of the dealers on the pretext of marriage. However, she was forced to become a prostitute.
The crime came to light when the duo mistakenly called up inspector Sunil Kumar, the Station House Officer of Kamla Market in central Delhi, and informed that they wanted to sell a ‘beautiful minor girl’.
Based on the inputs, the police team laid a trap to nab the dealers. Officers met the accused several times under the guise of brothel owners and managed to apprehend them near New Delhi Railway station.
Speaking to the Hindustan Times, DCP (central) MS Randhawa explained how the police team successfully trapped the accused in its net. He said,”Our officer did not allow them to suspect anything and struck a deal with the callers to buy the girl.”
The accused have been identified as identified as 24-year-old Amar and 27-year-old Ranjeet Shah. Both are residents of Bihar. Meanwhile, the victim has been reunited with her family.
Noteworthy, the accused got the contact number of the SHO from a friend.
