BSF Personnel Perform ‘Marriage Duty’ at The Wedding of IG PS Sandhu’s Daughter - JPKee.com

New Delhi, Nov 20: Several BSF men in uniform were seen deployed at the marriage of BSF IG PS Sandhu’s daughter on Sunday at a Chandigarh resort. A report said that the BSF personnel were guiding guests to the forest hill resort and many were deployed inside the premises for marriage arrangements.

Indian Express reported that 16 BSF men were called to BSF’s Lakhnaur campus from Jammu to be put on the special “marriage duty.”

Meanwhile, the report further said that Punjab police personnel were also roped in for the special duty. Around 25 policemen, including those who had been patrolling in Zirakpur, performed the duty.

Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Kuldeep Chahal said that the police personnel were on duty as many VIPs were attending the function.

A jawan told the paper that personnel had also come from Bengaluru, Rajasthan and Gujarat. They were told the BSF Director General was among the guests. A Liaison Officer said that the DG was attending the wedding and that it was under the protocol.

IG Sandhu was unavailable for comments. According to reports, a BSF lorry had served food to the men on duty at around 4 pm.

BSF is a central paramilitary force that was set to up to guard the borders.
