Thanksgiving Day is a major festival of the United States. It is a national holiday and also starts the holiday season of Christmas and New Year. Thanksgiving Day is celebrated to express gratitude for friends and family and was originally a harvest festival. It was celebrated yesterday on November 23, 2017. Thanksgiving Day usually signifies a day of family get-togethers and lavish family dinners. The day after Thanksgiving Day is marked with amazing deals, discounts and offers provided by the retailers and are called Black Friday. A name which might be misleading but now has a happy connotation attached to it. However, if on Thanksgiving Day there is a massive traffic jam then it surely dampens the mood somewhat and it can bring down the festive mood several notches below. To avoid the panic an aerial footage of a bumper-to-bumper traffic jam on the Los Angeles 405 Freeway was tweeted by ABC News to show how people can get stuck if they plan to travel by road. As in India, when fake images of Diwali seen from space generally starts doing the round the aerial video instead of cautioning people instilled a panic in them and the video went viral on social media. The ABC News had tweeted the video as a caution to people for they might get stuck if they travel by road. They shared the video with the caption, “Aerial footage shows bumper-to-bumper traffic in Los Angeles as Americans get a head start on Thanksgiving travel.” People started sharing the video thinking that it is true and a piece of vital information, but the video was actually of last years. It was the same video that was shot last year and was shared by ABC News. The clips created a lot of confusion and panic in the minds of people who could not fathom whether it was true or not. The video that was shared was of last year but started doing the social media rounds this year as well.
