But for those on the fence, Black Friday is perfect, because you can get it for $27. FIFA came out at the end of September, so it’s definitely a great deal at this price.
The latest game in the long FIFA line has an 84 on Metacritic, which is to be expected since EA has had years to refine the formula. For less than half the normal cost, you really can’t go wrong. You can expect hundreds of hours of gameplay across all the different modes.
Like FIFA, Madden is a bit of a known quantity, and you probably already know whether an American football game will appeal to you. Madden 18 makes some neat changes to the career mode by adding a story. This could add a bit more appeal for casual football fans who are looking for a more human story in their pigskin.
While not as new as some of the other games on this list, the August 22 release date is still relatively recent. Plus, there won’t be another Madden game until next August.
On Xbox One, Madden NFL 18 has an 82 on Metacritic, which is quite good (though it is a point lower than last year’s game). If you can see yourself getting sucked into a football game, you really can’t beat $27.
