New Delhi, Nov 26: My daughter was just 9 years old when she got shot, it was traumatic, the father of 26/11 Mumbai attacks survivor Devika recounted his horrific story on the ninth anniversary of brutal attack.
Talking to news agency ANI, the father also expressed his disappointment after Pakistan released the Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed from house arrest. He said, “Yes we are happy that Kasab was hanged but we will not be satisfied till the real mastermind sitting in Pakistan is punished.”

A tea seller and an eyewitness at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus ‘CST’ railway station said that he still get disturbed when he thinks of that moment (26/11 attacks). “I rescued many injured people, situation was devastating. I am just waiting for the day the real mastermind sitting in Pakistan is caught,” said the eyewitness named Mohd Taufeeq (chhotu).

Earlier on Saturday, the daughter of martyred policeman Tukaram Ombale while narrating her tragic story had said that her family still awaits the return of his father.
Ombale, an assistant sub-inspector, was killed while trying to caught a hold on terrorist Ajmal Kasab. He was killed by Kasab’s bullets in the early hours of November 27, 2008.
“We always think that Papa has gone out on duty and will return home. We have kept his belongings at the place they used to be in our home,”news agency PTI quoted a teary-eyed Vaishali Ombale, the eldest daughter of the martyred cop.
“We feel papa will come home any moment, although deep in our heart we know that he will never be amongst us now. Our family is proud of his supreme sacrifice,” said Vaishali who has completed her M Ed (Masters in education).
26/11 9th Anniversary: In Memory of Martyrs
Meanwhile, on its ninth anniversary, various events have been organised in Mumbai today, including a Salutation Ceremony’ by the city police. As per the reports, the Mumbai police have organised ‘Salutation Ceremony’ at Shahid Smarak (martyrs’ memorial) at the Police Gymkhana at Marine Lines at 9.00 AM on Sunday in the memory of martyrs.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, DGP Satish Mathur, city police commissioner Datta Padsalgikar along with other ministers, senior bureaucrats, police officials and family members of martyrs would pay homage to those who lost their lives in the attack. Tributes would also be paid at the memorial of assistant sub-inspector Tukaram Ombale at Girgaum Chowpatty.
Family members of martyrs will also be felicitated at the Bombay Stock Exchange in the presence of chief minister Fadnavis, RSS leader Indresh Kumar, Union ministers Hansraj Ahir and Kiren Rijiju and Lt Gen Vishwambhar Singh, General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.
26-11-2008: Here’s What Happened on The Horrific Day
On this day in 2008, ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists came to Mumbai via sea route from Pakistan and carried out series of coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across the city. The attacks lasted four days. It had claimed lives of 166 people including 18 police officers and two NSG commandos.
